Benue Capital Infrastructure Drive Delivers Ten New Roads Costing 15 Billion Naira

The Benue State Government has completed a major infrastructure delivery following the formal commissioning of ten newly constructed roads spanning 11.5 kilometres across Makurdi. The urban renewal launching ceremony, hosted by Governor Hyacinth Alia alongside federal dignitaries, marks a core milestone within the administration's broader matrix of forty-five delivered highway projects.

The engineering works were executed by Triacta Nigeria Limited at an aggregate cost of fifteen billion naira. The infrastructure package features high-grade asphalt layouts, high-intensity street lighting installations, and 3.4 kilometres of reinforced concrete drainage channels designed specifically to eliminate structural flood vulnerabilities across high-density commercial sectors.

Governor Alia stated that the timely unbundling of these transit links has opened up previously inaccessible areas and drastically lowered local commuting margins. The Ministry of Works and Urban Development has been directed to initiate routine structural checks, ensuring that asset maintenance indices correspond with the state's long-term capital preservation guidelines.
