The Katsina State Government has modernized its urban mobility and clean energy milestones following a comprehensive factory inspection conducted by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda at the State Assembly Centre for the solar-powered electric tricycle initiative. The specialized logistics intervention is engineered to deploy an initial fleet of 500 electric vehicles to transform public transit operations.
The operational framework is currently assembling its foundational batch of 200 electric units under the supervision of Special Adviser on Power and Energy, Dr. Hafiz Ibrahim Ahmed. To maximize local content participation, the program has successfully integrated batches of indigenous youths who were equipped with practical technical skills in electric vehicle architecture and powertrain maintenance.
Governor Radda emphasized that matching green transport technology with youth capacity building is a non-negotiable prerequisite for subnational industrialization. The Ministry of Commerce has been directed to establish localized fleet management registries, ensuring the clean-energy vehicles expand domestic micro-retail logistics lines across all 361 political wards smoothly.
