Governor Eno Launches Advanced 350 Bed Ibom International Hospital Complex

The Akwa Ibom State Government has achieved a landmark health sector transformation following the formal unveiling of the 350-bed Ibom International Hospital and the broader Ibom Medical City complex along the Uyo-Ikot Ekpene highway. Launched by Governor Umo Eno alongside Health Coordinating Minister Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, the infrastructure asset aims to dominate regional medical tourism markets.

The massive ten-story clinical asset integrates twenty-four distinct specialty medical departments, a 100-unit residential estate for medical personnel, pharmaceutical manufacturing zones, and laboratory hubs. Supervised by Tokiye Integrated Medical Services, the project establishes an integrated medical ecosystem derived from resolutions ratified during the ARISE Health Sector Town Hall sessions.

Information Commissioner Hon. Aniekan Umanah confirmed that the high-fidelity health city combines specialized treatment lines with clinical research capabilities. The State Ministry of Health has finalized operational models to absorb advanced diagnostic hardware, ensuring the state-subsidized medical network lowers case mortality indexes across the entire West African sub-region.
