๐ŸšŒ๐ŸŒฑ Governor Eno Receives First Batch Of 20 Compressed Natural Gas Mass Transit Buses

UYO, Nigeria, June 30, 2026 - The Akwa Ibom State Government has achieved a landmark milestone under its green industrialization and ARISE Agenda frameworks following the formal executive receipt of the first batch of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) transit buses by Governor Umo Eno. Inspected at the capital logistics yards, the newly arrived twenty-unit vehicle fleet represents the baseline phase of a comprehensive mass mobility transition.

The specialized clean-energy mass transit procurement unbundles a broader fifty-vehicle order financed by the state treasury to deliver safe, highly subsidized, and eco-friendly intra-state commuting across all thirty-one local government areas. Working in alignment with the Ministry of Transport, under Commissioner Dr. Anthony Luke, the project is engineered to significantly lower metropolitan passenger fare indices amid inflationary energy pressures.

Governor Eno stated that expanding modern mass transit infrastructure across interconnected road corridors is an absolute prerequisite for easing daily economic burdens for public sector workers and traders. The administration has initiated the next operational stage, mandating the rapid installation of automated digital ticketing systems, satellite transit tracking units, and the completion of centralized bus terminals state-wide.
