๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿฅ Governor Aliyu Inspects Renovated Gada General Hospital As Completion Reaches 94 Percent

GADA, Nigeria, June 29, 2026 - The Sokoto State Government has neared the full execution of its secondary healthcare modernization agenda following a technical inspection of the Gada General Hospital by Governor Ahmed Aliyu. Accompanied by Health Commissioner Dr. Faruk Umar Wurno, the governor audited structural updates at the medical institution, which was established in 1992 and left without capital improvements since 2019.

The comprehensive renovation contract, valued at 313.3 million naira, has successfully reached ninety-four percent completion, with the contracting firm already receiving eighty-four percent of the total project sum. The upgrade unbundles completely remodeled maternity labor blocks, the installation of solar-powered boreholes, fourteen modernized staff residential quarters, and clean facility access roads.

The facility retains a solid workforce strength of 110 medical professionals-including physicians, mid-level nurses, and laboratory scientists-who have already reported improved patient outcomes following the structural improvements. The Ministry of Health has integrated the center's solar-powered street lighting arrays into the local safety grid, securing nighttime emergency admissions safely.
