The Federal Capital Territory Administration has completed an important regional transit expansion following the formal commissioning of the new access bypass road stretching from Bill Clinton Drive to the Tungan Madaki settlement. Supervised by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, the critical road project is designed to establish an alternative traffic link that safely routes commuters away from the capital city’s active airport secondary runway layout.
The structural engineering scope of the project features a durable, modern four-span bridge built across a major seasonal water path to ensure all-weather transport safety. According to technical development updates from the FCTA Engineering Services Department, the newly paved route replaces a restricted dirt path, optimizing haulage timelines and opening up long-standing trade corridors for agricultural satellite communities.
Minister Wike stated that delivering high-fidelity infrastructure grids to outer settlements remains a key priority of the current administration. The FCT Transportation Secretariat has been instructed to install synchronized traffic controls along the bypass immediately, ensuring safe commuting speeds and integrating the newly commissioned highway asset into the capital's broader security patrol network.
