๐Ÿ›️⚠️ Akwa Ibom Government Issues Strict Warning Against Unauthorized Use Of Official Insignia

UYO, Nigeria, June 29, 2026 - The Akwa Ibom State Government has enacted strict institutional protection and legal enforcement codes following an official statutory warning issued regarding the widespread abuse of state-owned symbols. Signed by Information Commissioner Hon. Aniekan Umanah, the administrative directive targets the unauthorized use of the official state logo and crest by private individuals and entities.

The state executive expressed strong corporate concern over the illegal inclusion of official government insignia across private digital publications, promotional event advertisements, and unauthorized opinion articles. The Ministry of Information clarified that utilizing state symbols without written authorization creates deceptive assumptions of public endorsement, compromising institutional transparency.

The administration maintained that protecting sovereign public branding layers from fraudulent misrepresentation is an absolute prerequisite for preserving public trust. Going forward, the state’s legal departments will track and prosecute violators under statutory criminal charges covering false impersonation of public authorities, fraud, forgery, and copyright infringement.
