The Sokoto State Government has expanded its urban renewal infrastructure following the formal commissioning of a ten-road network within the Arkilla New Layout of Wamakko Local Government Area. Presided over by Governor Ahmed Aliyu alongside Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the critical civil engineering layout represents a completed capital intervention designed to manage rapid municipal population expansions.
The comprehensive road asset was constructed at a total cost of 3,512,250,520 naira to provide durable asphalt infrastructure for local homeowners and traders. According to project implementation logs, the newly paved corridors integrate standardized drainage networks engineered to enhance vehicular safety metrics and lower persistent travel time margins between remote residential sectors and regional trade hubs.
Governor Aliyu stated that deploying high-fidelity transport grids remains an absolute prerequisite for accelerating subnational economic growth. The State Ministry of Lands and Housing has finalized additional tracking protocols, paving the path for the upcoming launch of separate asphalt projects across high-density commercial zones including Gawon Nama, Mabera, Gidan Igwai, and Tudun Wada.
