Governor Bago Hands Over 500 Hectares In Gurara For Mega Solar Farm Project

The Niger State Government has advanced its green industrialization master plan following the formal handover of 500 hectares of prime land to Abuja Steel Mills Limited in the Diko axis of Gurara Local Government Area. Presided over by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, the strategic groundbreaking ceremony marks the official commencement of a multi-sector solar-powered generation farm and industrial park.

The extensive capital project is engineered to host one of the largest solar power grids across West Africa, providing independent energy lines to feed new manufacturing plants and stabilize power supply frameworks for host communities. Federal ministers attending the event commended the state's economic vision, highlighting its geographical position as a major gateway to secure high-yield private investments.

Governor Bago announced that the administration will soon gazette an additional 200,000 hectares of land stretching from Diko to Tafa along the Kaduna state boundary corridor. The massive industrial reserve will leverage natural gas resources from the active Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano pipeline network, positioning the subnational territory as an elite hub for regional manufacturing and processing centers.
