๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿšบ Katsina Secures 8 Million Dollar World Bank Frontload For Women Affinity Projects

ABUJA, Nigeria, June 29, 2026 - The Katsina State Government has finalized a major international development and micro-financing milestone following high-level bilateral negotiations hosted by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda with the World Bank and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. The global financial institution has committed to front-loading an additional six to eight million dollars to expand social protection frameworks.

The massive capitalization boost scales the highly successful Nigeria for Women Project (NFWP) across all thirty-four local government areas, building on a robust four billion naira counterpart fund previously fully paid by the state treasury. Women Affairs Minister Hajiya Imaan Ibrahim Suleiman confirmed Katsina as the national model for the scheme, noting local beneficiaries independently mobilized 192 million naira in collective savings.

Governor Radda announced that reinforcing female financial inclusion is an absolute prerequisite for rebuilding livelihoods in areas impacted by internal displacements. Spurred by this model, the state has unbundled blueprints for a matching state-funded 'Nigeria for Men' framework, targeting youth behavioral discipline, vocational skill tracking, and community self-reliance state-wide.
