๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“ˆ Lagos State Hosts High Level Ethiopian Delegation To Deepen Development Financing

IKOYI, Nigeria, June 26, 2026 - The Lagos State Government has expanded its international geoeconomic partnership networks following the formal hosting of a high-level delegation from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Organized by the Office of Sustainable Development Goals, the sub-national bilateral exchange is engineered to accelerate cross-border collaborations on sustainable asset management and development financing.

Representing Special Adviser Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, Permanent Secretary Mrs. Kaphayah Olayemi Sarumi detailed the deployment of Nigeria’s Integrated National Financing Framework to align public expenditure with core infrastructure needs. The visiting Ethiopian delegation, led by Mr. Solomon Tesfasilassie, audited the state’s innovative internal revenue capitalization models to deploy identical resilience templates back in East Africa.

Technical advisers from the presidency emphasized that intergovernmental knowledge tracking is an absolute prerequisite for bridging subnational funding deficits without accumulating unsustainable debt traps. Backed by the Federal Ministry of Economic Planning, the summit concluded with commitments to establish permanent inter-ministerial data sharing portals, advancing the macro objectives of Africa's Agenda 2063.
