๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿฅ Governor Diri Scales Universal Clinical Care Via 350 Bed BMUTH Teaching Hospital

YENAGOA, Nigeria, June 29, 2026 - The Bayelsa State Government has achieved a landmark consolidation of its multi-tier clinical care portfolios under the ongoing structural executions of the health sector "Assured Agenda." Spearheaded by Governor Douye Diri and coordinated by Health Commissioner Professor Seiyefa Brisibe, the medical expansion master plan integrates decentralized healthcare facilities across both city centers and deep riverine communities.

The crown asset of the structural overhaul features the newly birthed Bayelsa Medical University Teaching Hospital (BMUTH) along Imgbi Road, operating as a 350-bed specialized clinical complex. The high-capacity facility is comprehensively equipped with advanced modern diagnostics infrastructure, a dedicated hemodialysis center, a 32-slice CT scanner, and the centralized Bayelsa Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (BEMSAS) control station.

The administration confirmed that implementing cutting-edge logistics, including the innovative Zipline drone technology hub, is an absolute prerequisite for ensuring immediate medical supply tracking to isolated villages. Backed by expanded state health insurance schemes, the ministry has simultaneously delivered the 250-capacity Tombia Nursing College ICT center, the Oporoma Referral Hospital, and multiple zonal oxygen production units state-wide.
