The Federal Capital Territory Administration has completed a major public health and regional infrastructure milestone following the formal commissioning of the Karu Satellite Town water supply network by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima. The utility project was accelerated under strict executive orders to balance infrastructure arrays outside the urban core.
The large-scale civil engineering asset integrates more than 194 kilometers of secondary and tertiary pipeline distribution grids designed to deliver steady, treated potable water to thousands of suburban households. Originally awarded in August 2025, the extensive layout was finalized within a strict twelve-month construction window to reverse long-standing municipal utility deficits across the FCT.
The new water distribution framework provides direct, clean pipeline connections to long-neglected satellite communities, including Karu, Orozo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, and surrounding border settlements. The FCT Water Board has been instructed to initiate immediate volume pressure checks across the networks, ensuring safe domestic delivery lines and stabilizing public sanitation indexes uniformly.
