Ebonyi Government Moves To Construct New Industrial Cement Plant At Nkalagu

The Ebonyi State Government has expanded its industrialization and economic diversification portfolios following an official executive facility inspection tour conducted at the NIGERCEM factory site in Nkalagu. The state-level intervention brought together manufacturers, architectural designers, and civil contractors to finalize plans for building a new multi-sector cement factory.

The heavy manufacturing layout is strategically positioned to exploit extensive, high-grade natural limestone deposits situated inside the Nkalagu and Effium resource basins. According to the development brief, the infrastructure deployment represents a cornerstone of the administration's People’s Charter of Needs Agenda, aimed at creating thousands of manufacturing jobs for local youths.

The administration noted that boosting localized building material processing is an absolute prerequisite for lowering construction inflation metrics across the Southeast region. The Ministry of Industry has opened technical discussions with private equity partners to ensure the upcoming industrial complex integrates sustainable, eco-friendly carbon filtering mechanisms prior to factory breaks.
