Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and the Emir of Zazzau, has officially flagged off the construction of 11 strategic township roads across Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas under Phase II of the Urban Renewal and Rural Transformation Programme. The road contracts, awarded to Mothercat Limited and CGC Nigeria Limited, expand the administration’s infrastructure footprint, which has initiated 150 road projects covering 1,355 kilometers since May 2023.
Degraded municipal grid networks and isolated local communities increase transit times, inflate product distribution costs, and stall micro-commercial growth. Accelerating standard asphalt dualization and construction across urban dense centers optimizes regional logistics, enhances the quality of life for resident populations, and establishes durable trade linkages between rural production fields and municipal wholesale markets.
This large-scale public works rollout highlights a structured, highly inclusive approach to physical planning, intergovernmental collaboration, and capital asset monitoring. By leveraging partnerships with federal legislative heads and traditional emirate councils, the executive strengthens public trust and ensures equitable project execution across subnational local governance areas.
