Osun State Government Signs Partnership with Green Apple for Electric Vehicle Deployment

The Osun State Government has signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Apple HK Nigeria Limited to deploy electric vehicles across public departments and public transportation routes. Unveiling the pioneer fleet of the Imole Electric Motorbikes Initiative at the Government House in Osogbo, Governor Ademola Adeleke confirmed that the framework is structured to transition the state's public transit network from petrol-dependent vehicles to zero-emission alternatives.

High fuel costs have increased the overhead expenses of state ministries and raised commuter fares for residents. Partnering with private automotive technology providers to systematically deploy electric motorbikes, tricycles, cars, and mass transit buses helps the state lower the cost of public service logistics, cushion households from transport inflation, and advance its subnational clean energy and sustainable environmental agenda.

This green utility agreement highlights a tech-driven approach to municipal transportation tracking and cost control within the civil service. By formalizing operational frameworks with international clean-tech firms, the administration enhances its green asset base, reduces environmental pollution indices, and establishes a long-term model for public-private utility delivery.
