The Imo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Egu, accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of Heartland Hospital Management, conducted a pre-commissioning inspection of a newly completed 30-bed ultra-modern hospital in Assa, Ohaji, ahead of its formal handover to the Imo State Government. The healthcare facility was constructed and fully equipped by Renaissance Energy Company as part of its investment in host community development.
The inspection assessed the operational readiness of the hospital before commencement of medical services. State officials described the facility as an important addition to the state's healthcare infrastructure, noting that it will improve access to quality medical services for residents of the host community and surrounding areas while supporting ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery.
Renaissance Energy Company also announced plans to collaborate with the Imo State Health Insurance Scheme by sponsoring selected beneficiaries for healthcare services. As part of the partnership, the company will provide five days of free medical services, including surgical procedures, for selected residents as it expands healthcare support within its host communities.
The addition of a fully equipped hospital expands healthcare infrastructure in a part of the state where improved access to medical services can strengthen primary and secondary healthcare delivery. Increasing the availability of healthcare facilities helps reduce travel distances for patients, improves service accessibility and supports better health outcomes for surrounding communities.
