Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago received the leadership of the North Central Development Commission at the Government House in Minna and urged the Commission to prioritise practical solutions to communal conflicts, particularly farmer-herder clashes affecting the region. He proposed a meeting of North Central Governors to develop a coordinated regional strategy capable of addressing shared developmental challenges. The Governor further encouraged the Commission to strengthen interventions in climate resilience, agriculture, education, and infrastructure, while highlighting the recurring flood impacts associated with hydroelectric dams in Niger State. He also pledged to provide office accommodation and logistical support to facilitate the Commission's activities within the state.

Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, announced during a community engagement in Kontagora that the reconstruction of the Ibeto–Salka–Auna road corridor has been incorporated into the state's 2027 Budget framework. Addressing stakeholders from Magama Local Government Area led by former Deputy Governor, Ambassador Ahmed Musa Ibeto, the Governor also disclosed plans to recruit 1,000 local vigilante officers to strengthen community security across the area. In addition, the administration committed to resuming stalled rural electrification projects and converting vulnerable rural boarding schools into day schools to improve student safety in communities affected by security concerns. The announcements form part of the government's broader commitment to improving rural infrastructure, security, and community welfare.
