Oyo State Increases Equity Investment To Accelerate Iseyin Sugar Refinery Commercial Operations And Growth


The Oyo State Government approved an additional ₦2.4 billion equity investment in Oyo Sugar and Derivatives Industries Limited, located in Iseyin, as the agro-industrial facility prepares for commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2026. The expanded capital commitment supports final operational activities for the refinery, which is designed to process between 24 and 27 tonnes of brown sugar and 18 tonnes of industrial molasses daily. The integrated facility is projected to create more than 500 direct technical jobs while supporting approximately 1,000 sugarcane farmers through an organized outgrower programme. The investment strengthens the state's agricultural processing capacity and reinforces its strategy of expanding value-added agro-industrial manufacturing across the Oke-Ogun zone.
