The Sokoto State Government implemented a series of strategic executive initiatives aimed at strengthening democratic participation, rural development, and public security. Governor Ahmed Aliyu declared Friday, July 24, 2026, a work-free day to enable eligible civil servants to participate in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the forthcoming general elections. Simultaneously, the administration commenced the 35.7-kilometre Gidanmadi–Binji–Gande Road Project under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) while graduating the second batch of 1,550 Sokoto Marshals recruited from all 23 Local Government Areas to strengthen community-based security, protect public infrastructure, and expand employment opportunities for young people.

The Sokoto State Government commenced the latest round of its Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) campaign, targeting children under five years of age across eligible communities during the annual high-transmission season. Implemented in collaboration with development partners and healthcare stakeholders, the programme provides preventive antimalarial medicines through trained community health personnel using a structured door-to-door distribution strategy. The campaign aims to reduce malaria infections, severe illness, and child mortality by ensuring vulnerable children receive recommended preventive treatment before and during the peak rainy season. Health officials also intensified public awareness activities to encourage caregiver participation and strengthen community compliance with prescribed treatment schedules throughout the intervention period.
