Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has reaffirmed the Plateau State Government's commitment to accelerating digital transformation through expanded investments in information and communication technology, strategic institutional partnerships and wider adoption of digital governance. The Governor made the commitment while receiving the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) during a courtesy visit to Government House, Rayfield, Jos.
Welcoming the delegation, Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Computer Society for selecting Plateau State as the host of its international conference despite negative security narratives circulating on social media. He commended the Society's leadership for relying on independent assessment rather than misinformation when deciding to host the event in the state, describing the decision as a demonstration of confidence in Plateau's improving environment.
During the meeting, the Governor outlined key components of his administration's digital transformation programme. He disclosed that the state had reached an advanced stage in collaboration with development partners to establish a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centre in Jos. According to him, recruitment processes have already been conducted and approximately 600 successful applicants are prepared to commence employment under the initiative.
