The Niger State Government has commenced the construction of a permanent National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp following the groundbreaking ceremony performed by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago. The project marks the beginning of Phase One of a new permanent facility designed to provide improved accommodation, training and administrative infrastructure for corps members deployed to the state.
During the ceremony, Governor Bago described the project as a demonstration of his administration's commitment to youth development and investment in institutions that support national service. He disclosed that the first phase of the project will occupy approximately eight hectares of land, while an additional twenty hectares have been allocated for agricultural activities to support NYSC farming programmes. The ceremony also featured remarks from the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, the Emir of Agaie on behalf of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers and other stakeholders, all of whom expressed support for the project and pledged continued cooperation towards its successful completion.
