The Plateau State Government strengthened public health interventions through coordinated actions targeting child nutrition and livestock disease control. The Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning reaffirmed its partnership with Evidence Action to expand the Small Quantity Lipid-Based Nutrient Supplements programme across selected communities, aiming to reduce child malnutrition and stunting through wider healthcare coverage and capacity building for health workers. At the same time, officials of the Ministry of Livestock Development intensified emergency responses to the African Swine Fever outbreak by inspecting affected farms, conducting fumigation and disinfection exercises, assessing disease impact, and encouraging farmers to report outbreaks promptly while registering their farms for improved government intervention.

Plateau State Launches Expanded Mangu Bypass To Support Planned International Economic City Development


Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, officially flagged off construction of the 19.7-kilometre Mangu Bypass in Mangu Local Government Area. Originally designed as a 14-kilometre project, the highway was expanded to extend from Mirrana to Sabon Gari, strengthening regional connectivity and supporting future urban growth. The project, executed by Moulds Nigeria Limited, includes a reinforced stone base, three major bridges, advanced drainage infrastructure, and a widened right-of-way designed to accommodate future road expansion. Governor Mutfwang also directed strict enforcement against illegal land acquisitions and unapproved developments along the corridor to preserve land for the proposed Mangu International Economic City and future commercial investments.
