Governor Malam Umar Namadi officially resolved the longstanding farmland dispute between the Jobi Community in Jigawa State and the Kyalli Community in the Republic of Niger by commencing the allocation of alternative farmlands to affected farmers within the Dan-Makama Forest Reserve. The action implemented recommendations developed by the Jigawa State Boundary Committee in collaboration with the National Boundary Commission following extensive consultations with traditional rulers, security agencies, and community representatives. Under the approved arrangement, seventy-four affected farmers received replacement agricultural land within Jigawa State, bringing an end to nearly five decades of cross-border disagreement while promoting peaceful coexistence and restoring stability between the neighbouring border communities.
