Vice President Kashim Shettima has commissioned the Kwara Garment Factory, a state government project described as capable of employing at least 4,000 people when operating at full capacity.
The garment factory was commissioned in Kwara State as a signature project of the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The commissioning brought together the Vice President, state officials and other invited public and private-sector figures.
The submitted account states that the facility is designed to employ at least 4,000 people when it reaches full capacity. The employment figure is therefore presented as the factory's stated capacity rather than a report of current employment.
The project was also described in the submitted account as one of the biggest and technologically advanced garment facilities in West Africa. The factory's production capabilities are positioned within the state's broader industrial development agenda.
Vice President Shettima attended the commissioning alongside Governor AbdulRazaq, other governors, ministers, senators and BUA Group Chairman Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu.
With the commissioning completed, the factory has moved from project development into the operational phase, while the stated employment capacity of at least 4,000 remains tied to full-capacity production.
