Governor Umar Namadi signed the Jigawa State Supplementary Budget on October 6, 2026, after the State House of Assembly passed the additional appropriation. The supplementary budget provides ₦46.369 billion for the state government and ₦17.109 billion for the 27 local government councils.

The combined value of the two components is ₦63.478 billion. The additional provision therefore covers both the state-level government structure and all 27 local government councils within Jigawa, establishing a supplementary allocation across the two tiers identified in the announcement.

Speaking after signing the budget, Governor Namadi thanked the State House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the supplementary appropriation. He also urged relevant government institutions to ensure its full and effective implementation after the executive assent.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, the Chairman of the House Committee on Budget and members of the State Executive Council. Their participation reflected the legislative and executive stages involved in the supplementary budget process, from passage by the Assembly to assent by the Governor.

The October 6 Jigawa State government publication did not provide a sector-by-sector breakdown of the ₦46.369 billion state allocation or the ₦17.109 billion local government allocation. It therefore establishes the total supplementary provision and the distribution between the state government and the 27 councils, but does not identify the individual programmes, projects or expenditure lines that will receive the additional funding. The immediate administrative priority stated by the Governor is full and effective implementation of the approved supplementary budget.
