The agreement was signed at Government House, Dutse, with Deputy Governor Engr. Aminu Usman representing Governor Umar Namadi. Under the arrangement, Rano Air is to operate scheduled Abuja-Dutse-Abuja flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The airline is expected to use a 50-passenger aircraft on the route, while the Jigawa State Government will facilitate development of the route during its initial period and work to create conditions for commercial sustainability.

Deputy Governor Usman described the agreement as part of efforts to strengthen transportation connectivity and support economic activity in Jigawa. He said regular air services would provide an additional transport option between Dutse and Abuja.

Rano Air Managing Director Alhaji Lawan Sabo Bakin Zuwo said the airline was committed to the partnership and identified safety, reliability, operational efficiency and customer service as priorities. He also said the service could support business, investment, government activities and travel.

The agreement establishes the framework for scheduled commercial flights on the Abuja-Dutse route three times weekly. The parties have therefore moved from route development discussions to a formal partnership arrangement for the proposed service.
