The White Paper Implementation Sub-Committee on Grazing Reserves, chaired by Ardo Chindo Abubakar, visited Nafada and Funakaye Local Government Areas to sensitise farmers and herders on policies, regulations and guidelines governing grazing reserves and cattle routes.

At the Nafada Emir's Palace, the committee urged farmers and herders to comply with the law and respect one another as part of efforts to sustain peaceful coexistence.

The committee chairman also disclosed a state enforcement measure requiring Ardos to collect and document data on cattle herders across Gombe State, while cautioning against activities involving cattle from outside the state that could cause destruction or undermine community peace.

Traditional rulers in Nafada and Funakaye pledged cooperation with the sensitisation exercise, while the respective emirs called on farmers and herders to support government efforts toward peace and sustainable development.

The committee subsequently proceeded to Funakaye Local Government Area, continuing the sensitisation exercise on grazing reserves, cattle routes and related government policies.
