The Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Arabic and Islamic Education Board, Dr. Aminu Umar Gummi, disclosed the curriculum development during an audience participatory programme on Gamji FM Radio sponsored by the Zamfara State Government.

According to the report, the curriculum has been sent to Governor Dauda Lawal for approval and is therefore subject to the state's approval process.

The report also stated that the Federal Government was formalising the Tsangaya education system with the stated objective of giving it official recognition.

Dr. Gummi said the proposed harmonisation with the formal education system would enable Tsangaya students to sit examinations including NECO and WAEC and progress to university level.

The board's curriculum development initiative remains at the approval stage identified in the report, with the stated objective of strengthening the educational pathway for students in Tsangaya schools.
