The Ekiti State government publication said the decision takes immediate effect and covers boards, commissions and parastatals as well as political appointees serving as Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants and Technical Assistants.

The announcement concerns an administrative transition within the state government. It states that the action affects the specified political appointments and institutional boards rather than all state statutory bodies.

According to the announcement, chairmen and members of the State Independent Electoral Commission, Civil Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission and Judicial Service Commission are not affected by the dissolution.

The governing councils of state-owned tertiary institutions are also to remain intact. The chairmen of SUBEB, the Local Government Service Commission and the Teaching Service Commission are to remain in office, although the respective boards are dissolved.

Directors-General and Technical Advisers to the governor are also exempted from the termination of appointments. The governor expressed appreciation to affected appointees for their service to the state.
