The Edo State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen, said the 22-day seminar formed part of efforts to strengthen the state's transportation capacity and advance the administration's SHINE Agenda.

Speaking at the closing ceremony in Beijing, Uwuilekhue said the programme exposed Edo officials to modern knowledge, technology and practices relating to railway production, operations and maintenance.

The Commissioner linked the practical exposure to transportation, urban mobility, economic growth and industrial development. He also stressed the importance of continuous capacity building within the transportation sector.

According to the account, the seminar also provided opportunities for participants from Nigeria and China to interact, share knowledge and establish professional relationships. Uwuilekhue said the experience gained could support efforts toward more efficient transportation systems.

The seminar has now concluded, with the Edo transportation delegation returning with the reported technical exposure and relationships developed during the 22-day programme for potential application in the state's transportation and urban-mobility efforts.
