Adamawa State environmental authorities have continued sanitation enforcement across parts of Yola, with officials urging residents and traders to comply with environmental regulations.
The enforcement exercise was conducted on September 26 across Jambutu, Jimeta Bypass, Doubeli, Mai Doki Roundabout and other areas, under the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.
The enforcement team was divided between Yola North and Yola South to monitor compliance with environmental sanitation directives.
Commissioner Mohammed Sadiq said some communities demonstrated compliance and urged residents to sustain sanitation practices, while noting that violations by some traders remained an issue.
Officials specifically cited traders displaying and selling goods in violation of government directives despite previous warnings and said continued non-compliance would not be tolerated.
The State Comptroller of the Federal Ministry of Environment and the Executive Secretary of ADSEPA also encouraged residents to continue supporting sanitation measures intended to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
