Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has directed that the planned distribution of 50,000 Dangote shares to women across the state be conducted fairly and without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, political affiliation or patronage.
Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi A. Sule met with senior state officials to discuss modalities for distributing 50,000 Dangote shares to women across the state. The meeting included the Deputy Governor, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, commissioners and the Accountant General.
The meeting included Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe, Speaker Danladi Jatau, Deputy Speaker Adamu Oyanki, members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, commissioners and Accountant General Musa Ahmed. The officials discussed modalities for implementing the distribution of the shares to women across the state.
Sule specifically warned those responsible for the exercise against selecting beneficiaries on the basis of religion, tribe, political party or what he described as godfather sentiments. His directive places non-discrimination and fairness at the centre of the selection process as the government works out how the 50,000 shares will be allocated.
The initiative follows the state's broader October programme involving women and Dangote IPO shares. The government publication on the earlier flag-off stated that 7,500 women were to be selected across Karshi, Panda, Keffi, Loko, Udege and Nasarawa, while the subsequent meeting focused on modalities for distributing 50,000 shares across the state.
The directive does not provide the final beneficiary list or a completed distribution timetable. It establishes the governor's stated standard for the allocation process: selection should be fair and should not be influenced by religious, ethnic or partisan considerations or political patronage.
