The Plateau State Ministry of Health has completed validation of its 2027 Annual Operational Plan, with a total financial framework of ₦53.87 billion and a stated funding gap of approximately ₦1.83 billion.
The two-day finalisation and validation meeting was held in Jos and brought together government officials, health-sector stakeholders and development partners to consolidate the state's 2027 healthcare operational plan. The completed document is intended to be forwarded to the Plateau State Governor for executive consideration.
The financial framework presented at the meeting totalled ₦53,871,076,987.60. The state government's contribution was listed as ₦10,964,607,540.00, while ₦41,077,500,297.00 was identified from development partners and other sources, leaving a stated funding gap of ₦1,828,969,150.00.
The Director of Health Planning, Research and Statistics said the process was designed to harmonise submissions, remove duplication, align activities with national and state health priorities, map resources and identify funding gaps. The process also incorporated Local Government Area business plans into the state plan.
The validated document is expected to support budget defence and provide evidence for accessing the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund and other disbursement-linked funding mechanisms. Development partners including WHO, UNICEF and NPHCDA representatives participated in the meeting and pledged continued support.
The meeting concluded with adoption of the consolidated 2027 Annual Operational Plan and steps toward final validation by the Commissioner for Health and Permanent Secretary before submission to the governor for consent and signing.
