The Kano State Ministry for Public Procurement, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation conducted an inspection of more than 40 government projects across Gwarzo and Kabo Local Government Areas, with the combined project value reported at ₦24,085,217,515.71.

The Kano State government publication said the monitoring team identified concerns over construction materials and workmanship at some sites, including an Information and Communication Technology and Computer-Based Test Centre in Gwarzo.

The Commissioner, Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, directed that identified quality issues be addressed before affected construction activities proceed. Contractors responsible for a block of classrooms in Kutama were also directed to meet with the Department of Building Infrastructure over observed workmanship concerns.

The inspection further covered water-supply infrastructure, including follow-up assessment of transformer supply and installation at the Guzu-Guzu and Magaga Water Supply Schemes in Kabo Local Government Area.

The ministry said its monitoring programme would continue across Kano State, with emphasis on compliance with approved designs, construction specifications, quality standards and corrective action where deficiencies are identified.
