The competition brought together two schools from each of Edo State's three senatorial districts and focused on students' knowledge of the legislature, democracy, constitutional governance, electoral processes and legislative practice.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr Washington Osifo, represented by the Director of School Support Services, said the exercise was intended to deepen students' intellectual development and prepare them for future leadership responsibilities.

Participating schools were Fugar Mixed Secondary School and Holy Trinity Grammar School from Edo North, Annunciation Catholic College and Ujoelen Grammar School from Edo Central, and Western Boys High School and Niger College from Edo South.

The competition proceeded through three rounds, with elimination at each stage. Annunciation Catholic College recorded 65 points to finish first, followed by Fugar Mixed Secondary School with 55 points and Niger College in third position.

Certificates were presented to the winners at the conclusion of the event. The winning school is scheduled to represent Edo State at the zonal stage on October 22, 2026, with the national grand finale scheduled for November 9, 2026, in Abuja.
