Plateau State's Ministry of Education, working with PICTDA and Edumanager Information System Ltd, has conducted a six-day rollout and adaptation training to help public secondary school Data Masters manage records through the PEMIS platform.
The Plateau State government publication reported that the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency and Edumanager Information System Ltd, conducted a PEMIS rollout and adaptation training for Data Masters from public secondary schools.
The training began with participants from Wase, Langtang North and Langtang South, where they learned to access school dashboards and view information including student enrolment and teacher numbers. Participants were also introduced to the Activity Log and procedures for updating teacher records.
Subsequent sessions covered Shendam, Mangu, Qua'an Pan, Kanam, Kanke, Bokkos, Jos East, Barkin Ladi and Riyom, with practical instruction on accessing dashboards, maintaining accurate records and using the platform's administrative features.
The final sessions involved participants from Bassa, Jos North and Jos South. The training reinforced the responsibility of Data Masters to keep staff and student information current so education managers can access timely data for planning and decision-making.
The six-day exercise was designed to strengthen the use of the digital school-management platform, reduce reliance on manual records, improve accessibility and accuracy of education data, and support evidence-based administration across the participating public secondary schools.
