According to the Katsina State government publication, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, chairman of the North West Governors' Forum, will lead governors from the seven North West states to the side event titled “From Fragility to Opportunity: Locally Led Pathways to Peace, Resilience and Investment in Fragile Contexts.”

The event is expected to present the Northwest Peace, Security and Development Framework 2026–2030 to development partners, investors, financial institutions and private-sector representatives. The forum's stated agenda combines peace and security with resilience, development and investment.

The publication said the framework emerged from regional coordination around shared challenges and has received support from the United Nations system, particularly UNDP, alongside engagement involving UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed.

The governors are also expected to highlight opportunities in agriculture, infrastructure, energy, technology, mining and human capital, while seeking partnerships, financing and private investment to support implementation of the framework across the seven states.

The New York engagement therefore marks the forum's planned transition from internal regional coordination to presenting a common development and investment proposition to an international audience under the message “Seven States. One Ambition.”
