The Osun State Government and the Osun Development Association have agreed on a partnership framework focused on industrial development, investment mobilisation and broader socio-economic initiatives following a four-hour engagement in Osogbo.
Governor Ademola Adeleke hosted the ODA delegation led by its chairman, Dr Segun Aina, alongside the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry and other cabinet members. The association presented proposals aimed at supporting industrial and socio-economic development in Osun State.
The ODA proposed a social and economic advisory council, an industrial development bank, a platform for mobilising investment funds into the state, and expanded interventions in education and health. Dr Aina said the association was seeking to complement the state government's development activities.
Governor Adeleke welcomed the proposal for a Social and Economic Advisory Council and said the government would consider how the mechanism could be activated. He also said the administration had opened the state to local and international investors.
On industrial park development, the governor said the proposal aligned with his industrialisation objectives while pointing to the existing Free Trade Zone. He also asked the ODA to formally submit requests for land allocation and said the government had reduced delays in land processing, with Certificates of Occupancy described as having a 45-day processing window.
The engagement concluded with the parties indicating an intention to work jointly on the proposed development initiatives. The source also records plans for an ODA-hosted engagement with the governor in January 2027.
