Construction activities are continuing at multiple sections of the Akute–Agbado road corridor in Ogun State, with asphalt laying, drainage construction and road-foundation works progressing simultaneously.
The Ogun State Government reported that asphalt laying of the wearing course was progressing towards the Abule Ekun Bridge at Chainage 4+800 from the Akute axis.
At Chainage 5+800, construction of a 1.5-metre by 1.5-metre culvert was ongoing as part of drainage works intended to support the road structure and manage water flow along the corridor.
Around Chainage 7+500 at Agbado, unsuitable materials were being excavated and removed, with good laterite material being introduced as replacement for the road foundation.
The simultaneous activities cover different components of the corridor, including pavement, drainage and foundation preparation. The state government linked the works to improved connectivity and movement along the route.
Construction remains ongoing across the identified sections of the Akute–Agbado axis. The Ogun State government publication reported that work would continue as the project progresses through its various construction stages.
