Governor Dikko Umaru Radda inaugurated the training exercise for the third batch of 361 young agripreneurs at the Agripreneurship Training Centre in Dutsin-Ma, according to the Katsina State government publication.

The governor also assessed activities at the centre and engaged trainees on their needs and areas where additional government support could be provided. He said the programme was intended to equip young people with practical agricultural skills, knowledge and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Radda directed that the 2027 budget should provide for upgrading the Agripreneurship Training Centre and expanding its capacity. He also announced a planned increase in enrolment from one trainee per ward to three trainees per ward.

With 361 wards in Katsina State, the proposed expansion would allow more than 1,000 young people to participate in the programme. The governor encouraged trainees to apply their skills after returning to their wards and to share knowledge and create opportunities for other young people.

The programme forms part of the administration's stated Building Your Future Agenda, with the reported focus on skills development, agricultural entrepreneurship and youth participation in local economic activity.
