Statistician General Dr Bukar Baba Alaji led officials of the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics on a courtesy visit to Commissioner for Information and Culture Malam Ahmed Maiyaki.

The engagement was intended to strengthen the relationship between the Bureau and the Ministry and explore areas of cooperation around the production, management and communication of statistical data for planning and development.

Dr Alaji said the Bureau was committed to strengthening its operations and improving the quality, timeliness and relevance of statistical information available to government, institutions and the public.

Commissioner Maiyaki emphasised the importance of accurate and credible statistics to government planning and urged the Bureau to work closely with the Ministry and other public institutions to ensure data is properly generated, documented and communicated.

The meeting therefore established institutional collaboration around reliable public statistics as the immediate focus of the engagement, with the Bureau reaffirming its role in supporting policy formulation, planning and monitoring.
