Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has recognised teachers as an important pillar of collective national progress, saying their work in classrooms helps shape the minds and character of future generations and contributes to a society founded on knowledge and wisdom.

Adeleke thanked teachers, particularly those working in Osun State, for their role in preparing children and young people for responsible citizenship. He said the work undertaken in classrooms contributes to the development of knowledge, character and values and argued that society should recognise and appropriately reward teachers for their contribution.

The governor also pointed to what the state government described as measures taken during the past three years to improve teachers' working environment. These included the rehabilitation of public-school infrastructure and interventions relating to the payment of primary school teachers. The governor said his administration had acted when funds intended for teachers' salaries were affected by what he described as political interests.

Adeleke said the administration would continue to prioritise teacher welfare and provide resources intended to support their work. His message linked the welfare of teachers to the broader condition of Osun's public workforce and reiterated a commitment to improved conditions as the administration pursues its development agenda.

The World Teachers' Day message therefore combined recognition of teachers' contribution with a reaffirmation of the state's stated policy direction on welfare, training and school infrastructure. The government position, as published, is that sustained attention to teachers and their working environment remains part of its approach to the education sector.
