The donation was presented by WHO State Coordinator Raji Mukhtar to Zamfara Commissioner for Health Nafisa Muhammad Maradun at the ministry's headquarters in Gusau.

The medicines are intended to support state preparedness and response to cholera, diphtheria and other vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks.

Receiving the items, the commissioner thanked WHO for its continued partnership with Zamfara State in public health interventions and said the donated medicines would contribute to the state's response capacity.

The Zamfara State Ministry of Health publication said the commissioner assured that the medicines would be properly managed and utilised.

WHO also reaffirmed its continued support for the state. The donation adds another partner-supported component to Zamfara's public-health preparedness and disease-response activities.
