A delegation led by Legion Investment Moscow representative Leonid Khasiev visited Governor Mai Mala Buni ahead of technical engagements and field inspections. The company described the visit as an investment and technical assessment mission focused on the proposed energy solution.

The proposed gas-powered plant is intended to provide electricity for agro-processing, manufacturing, storage, cold-chain facilities and other businesses expected to operate within the Agro-Industrial Zone. The state government has framed dependable power supply as part of the infrastructure required for broader agro-industrial development.

The engagement forms part of Yobe's stated effort to move agricultural activity beyond primary production toward a system incorporating production, aggregation, processing, storage, logistics and market access. Governor Buni said the state was seeking international investors and technical partners to support those development priorities.

The governor said the proposed partnership could contribute to job creation, value addition, industrial development and increased agricultural investment. The source, however, describes the electricity facility as proposed and does not report a final investment agreement, construction commencement or completed power-generation capacity.

The Russian delegation is expected to continue technical and investment assessment activities with relevant Yobe authorities. The next phase therefore remains an engagement and evaluation process toward determining the technical and investment requirements for the proposed energy project.
