Kefas led a Taraba State Government delegation to the Government House in Minna, where he expressed sympathy to Governor Bago, the affected families and residents of Niger State.

The Taraba governor called for a clear account of what happened and said the findings of the Federal Government's investigation should inform measures aimed at protecting lives.

Governor Bago thanked his counterpart for the visit and said the state government's judicial commission of inquiry was also examining the incident, with the expectation that its work would complement the federal investigation.

Separately, the General Officer Commanding One Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed Wase, paid a condolence visit to Governor Bago over the incident and discussed the forthcoming reorganisation of Army formations affecting Niger State.

The condolence visits and parallel inquiries form part of the continuing official response to the deaths, while the circumstances and findings remain subject to the ongoing investigative processes.
