Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has engaged a sports-industry investment team over proposed projects including football manufacturing and a talent-development academy in the state.
The meeting took place in London and involved investors led by Alive and Kicking Nigeria Limited and Amos Sports Business School, London, with the governor discussing investment opportunities in Osun.
Adeleke outlined his administration's investment policies and said the Osun Free Trade Zone was prepared to receive investors, while directing the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to treat the company's submission with urgency.
The investor team said it intended to establish a football factory capable of producing footballs for Nigeria, Africa and the wider international market.
The team also said its application for land at the Osun State Free Trade Zone had been processed and that preparations were underway at the allocated site.
A proposed football talent academy for young Osun players was also presented, with the company expected to submit a detailed proposal; no completed factory or operational academy was reported in the government publication.
