The approvals were announced by the State Head of Service, Chief Segun Odusanya, following Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa's decision to review the existing welfare arrangements for workers.

According to the Head of Service, the Car Loan and Housing Loan schemes had last been reviewed in 2013 and their existing ceilings had lost purchasing value amid higher construction costs, vehicle prices and inflation.

The revised arrangements are intended to increase the value of the loans available to eligible public servants and restore the schemes' stated purpose as worker welfare measures.

Duty Tour Allowances for official assignments within Ondo State, outside the state and outside Nigeria were also approved for upward review.

The government publication said the additional ₦500 million seed fund would support the Car Loan and Housing Loan schemes as part of the broader worker-welfare measures.
