The Lagos State government publication reported that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu held a security council meeting with security chiefs at the State House Marina on September 29.

The meeting reviewed security activities and plans for strengthening the state's security system ahead of year-end activities, when the government expects increased movement of residents and visitors alongside religious, cultural and other public events.

Those present included the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Commander 9 Brigade, Commander NNS Beecroft, Commander 651 Base Services Group, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund and senior state government officials.

The government also noted that Lagos was preparing to host President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that political activities were increasing following the announcement of the commencement of campaign activities by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The security council review therefore focused on maintaining coordination among security agencies and strengthening preparations as Lagos enters a period of increased public activity and movement.
