Executed as part of the Maiduguri urban renewal master plan, the newly inaugurated Post Office 9-span flyover bridge represents the fourth flyover completed by the Zulum administration to eliminate persistent traffic gridlock within the commercial core of the state capital. Nasarawa State Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule attended the ceremony as special guest of honour, performing the official ribbon cutting alongside state dignitaries and traditional leaders.

During his keynote address, Governor Sule commended the Borno State Government for maintaining aggressive infrastructure investments and expanding public education access despite persistent regional security challenges. He noted that executing complex civil engineering structures amidst post-insurgency recovery efforts demonstrates extraordinary fiscal discipline and administrative focus, directly improving transit efficiency and economic productivity for Maiduguri residents.

The newly commissioned projects comprise the fully equipped Larawaram Community Senior Secondary School, the reconstructed Shehu Sanda Kyarimi I Primary and Junior Secondary School, the Post Office Flyover, and the dualized Budum–Tandari Junction to Kasuwan Shanu road corridor complete with 5 kilometers of integrated concrete drainage channels designed to mitigate urban seasonal flooding.

Governor Zulum highlighted that post-insurgency recovery initiatives have delivered over 120 mega schools statewide to address critical classroom deficits resulting from decade-long conflicts. He recalled that past insurgent attacks destroyed more than 5,000 educational structures and displaced hundreds of thousands of learners, necessitating aggressive state-led infrastructural reconstruction to restore normal academic calendar operations.

To consolidate basic education with practical economic empowerment, Borno State has established 5 specialized Vocational Enterprise Institutes, reactivated 11 Vocational Training Centres, and opened 3 Second Chance Skills Entrepreneurship Schools tailored for women and vulnerable youth. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to delivering additional urban renewal infrastructure and educational expansion projects across all local councils.
